New York Fashion Week is done and dusted after a creatively explosive 8 days of runway shows! I can safely conclude that some collections absolutely blew me away, surprised me, baffled me and even disappointed me!
But to talk about them all would take about 4 separate posts, so here's my personal collection of absolute favourite pieces from the plethora of Autumn/Winter '14 shows.
Jenny Packham Naeem Khan
Badgley Mischka Tory Burch
Karen Walker Carolina Herrera
Creatures of the Wind Brandon Sun
DKNY Erin Featherstone
Mara Hoffman Josie Natori
Monique Lhuillier Nicole Miller
Tadashi Shoji
Veronica Beard Whit
J. Mendel Marc Jacobs
Proenza Schouler Ralph Lauren
Anna Sui
Steve Alan Marchesa
Michael Kors Kaufmanfranco
So that rounds up my favourites from New York Fashion Week! This is the first year I've properly kept up with every single show, and I'm so happy I did, because I've been absolutely enlightened, and learned loads about some incredible designers I had never even heard of prior to this past week!
In terms of colour, the runway was dotted in pastels, as well as the standard monochrome combo - particularly white, as well as muted tones of grey!
The over-sized knee length coats were especially prominent, as were eccentric prints and fur. (yay!) Many designers presented collections dominated by flowy loose-fitting trousers, and sharp tailored blazers, as well as - and without a doubt, my absolute favourite aspect of this season's pieces - the use of sheer materials and embellished metallics!
I've thoroughly enjoyed scouring through each and every collection in search of stunning items!
Bring on London!
