CREEPING INTO AUTUMN

Crop: Motel Rocks | Dress: Bershka | Bomber: H&M | Bag: H&M | Shoes: Adidas
----------------------------------------------

This H&M bomber - which I picked up in the sale for only £15 a couple of months ago - is a perfect transition piece for the forthcoming colder weather. I'm really not much of a winter dresser, but as this bomber is actually quite thick and warm, it's perfect to create a funky look and also to combat the chill. I also recently dug up these Adidas high-top sneakers from my wardrobe, which are also helping me transition from Summer to Autumn. Trainers and sneakers, generally, allow for a seamless adjustment between the seasons, and while I'm able to ditch all my old sandals and other summery shoes, they're still not the warm winter boot that I'm sure I'll be sporting in the next couple of months!

CIRCLES & STRIPES

T-shirt: Topshop | Shorts: Forever 21 | Bomber jacket: H&M | Shoes: Converse
------------------------------------

Here's a quick post featuring one of my new favourite combos that I wore for a cycle along the river; I've been loving pairing circles and stripes lately! It's probably a combination that shouldn't work, but I feel like both prints are subtle enough that they don't particularly overwhelm each other.

CHAIN SANDALS

T-shirt: Topshop | Pinafore dress: Bershka | Bag: Gifted | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Sandals: ASOS
------------------------------------------

These new ASOS sandals definitely took some time to break into; the chain detailing, which is the main reason I bought them, doesn't really allow for too much stretching, but finally, several blisters later, they're soft and comfy to wear. I love how that minimal detail can add so much to a look, and I also love the straps round the ankles, which gives them much more of a boho feel! I think they look so cool paired with my pinafore dress (genuinely think this dress has made 3 or 4 appearances on my blog already) and I absolutely love the colour combination between the orange, and the acid-washed black/grey.

BANG FOR MY BUCK

Dress: H&M | Belt: Topshop | Sunglasses: Topshop | Sandals: Zara
---------------------------------------

One of the reasons I love being back home is because I have the opportunity to rummage through all the abandoned items in my wardrobe and give them a new lease of life. I found my old sandals amongst all the rubbish, and remembered how much I used to love these babies. Regardless of them being a trend or not, my love for gladiator sandals is endless, and even though this season, it's all about more boho-vibes lace-up sandals, I love the slightly tougher aesthetic that these ones add to my outfit.

This dress; a newer addition to my wardrobe, is definitely one of the best items I've purchased this summer! Not only do I love the colour, the print, and the super soft feel, but it's also so easy to style and can be dressed down or up depending on the occasion. At a mere £14.99, I've really gotten a lot of bang for my buck with the number of times I've worn it! Happy days :)

MISSGUIDED FLORAL

Playsuit: Missguided | Bag: Gifted | Sliders: Schuh
---------------------------------

I'm not usually one for overly colourful playsuits, but when I spotted this two-toned pink playsuit on the Missguided website, I was sold! Not only was I attracted to the colour and print, but it was also in the sale - how could I not?!

Honestly, it has the potential of being an extremely comfortable piece, but I feel like I'm just a little too tall for it, or my torso is too long, or something weird like that, which made it slightly restrictive! But if you're under 5ft8, this is definitely a winner!

I paired it with a straw fedora and my white unicorn sliders for a chilled out pool-side vibe! I really can't get enough of these shoes! Not only are they different to your average sliders, but they also go with absolutely everything, while adding something a little fun and quirky to any look!

STRIPES AND LIME

Crop: Topshop | Shorts: Forever 21 | Sandals: Forever 21 | Sunnies: ALDO | Necklace: Topshop
---------------------------------------

I've been loving these striped Forever 21 shorts recently. Usually I'm a size XS, but because I purchased these in a Small, they're not as high-waisted as I had initially expected them to be. I'm actually so glad that they're not, because I feel that their slouchyness adds a certain cool and effortless vibe to an outfit that is otherwise more put together. I love the contrast between the shorts and the lime crop, and the lace up sandals just finish the whole look off perfectly, for that chilled out aesthetic.

TRAINERS TREND

T-shirt: Topshop | Jeans: Topshop | Bomber jacket: H&M | Bag: Accessorize | Trainers: Nike via Footasylum
-------------------------------------------------

I must say I wasn't a huge fan of the trainers trend when it blew up last season - it just felt odd to wear the shoes I wear to the gym with my everyday outfits. But with this outfit, I had a change of heart, as I felt the trainers tied the look up together really well, especially as the outfit has quite a sporty and relaxed vibe, so the shoes aren't too contrasting in aesthetic and not too try-hard.

Here, I'm wearing my grey mesh Nike Roshe Runs, my black skinnies, my coral/salmon t-shirt (with sheer bits) for a pop of colour, and this awesome oversized bomber jacket that I picked up in the H&M sale the other day! I actually bought it in a size 14, because I hate it when bombers are too snug and fitted on me; I much prefer the more oversized and almost masculine vibe that oversized bombers can add to an outfit.

FLORAL BLOUSE

Top: H&M (Similar here) | Jeans: M&S | Shoes: Topshop | Faux fur coat: Choies
---------------------------------

With my ongoing job hunt forever on my mind, I decided to hit the shops the other day, to hunt for some affordable and work-appropriate pieces. First stop: H&M - they absolutely never fail in this department. I managed to find this pretty wraparound floral blouse for under £15, and the best thing is that not only is it super chic and pretty for a work outfit, but it's not too much so that it can't be worn outside of the office. Here I paired it with my trusty high-waisted jeans, and suede boots, adding my fur jacket for a cool colour/print contrast (and to combat the English chill).

WEATHER, WHY?

Jumper: H&M | Jeans: Levis via Motel Rocks (Vintage) | Shoes: Vans | Nails: Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in 'Plum'
----------------------------------------------

I'm just not feelin' this weather right now; I've had enough of jumpers and jeans! I'm so looking forward to going back home in a couple of weeks time for some well-earned beach and tanning time, and hopefully my blog posts will feature some actual summery looks!

But anyway, for now, I'm just trying to make the most of my current situation, so I decided to whip out my mom jeans, which I hadn't worn for a good while, and paired them with a brown jumper and purple Vans! It's a quick and simple outfit, but I really love the pretty detailing on the jumper, and the contrast between all the colours! Here's hoping for some warmth and sunshine soooon!

WHITE FLORAL

Tee: Topshop | Shorts: Topshop | Jacket: Mango | Sandals: Zara | Bag: Gifted
----------------------------------------

The all-white trend has been around for a little while now, and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere any time soon. So when I spotted this cropped white tee in Topshop recently, I thought it would make a great addition to my wardrobe. The floral detailing and scalloped edge adds a little something extra to an otherwise plain t-shirt, and I think it would look sooo great with some white high-waisted distressed jeans and some white trainers, for a cool and effortless vibe.

For this outfit, though, I decided to go for something a little different, and paired the tee with my salmon shorts, beaded sandals, and finally, my leather jacket. which I felt toughened up the look nicely. I went pretty minimal on the accessories front with a plain gold chain, and my gold watch.

ORANGE BODYCON

Dress: Missguided | Shirt: Abercrombie & Fitch | Sandals: Zara | Bag: H&M | Necklace: Bijou Brigitte
------------------------------------

The sun finally graced us with its presence this past weekend - hallelujah! I thought it was the right time to whip out this cute orange bodycon dress from Missguided, although I decided to wear my Abercrombie shirt over it in anticipation of a very typically-English weather change - plus, I also really love the contrast in the colour palette and aesthetic. I topped it all off with my beaded sandals, fringed bag (what's new?) and statement necklace, which I felt was an effective accessory to the plain dress. I'll be experimenting with other ways to style this piece in the next few weeks; it's such a great  - and inexpensive - staple piece upon which a gorgeous outfit can be built upon!
