DIY FRAYED MOM JEANS

I'm aware that I've featured all of these items in my blog very recently, but let's face it: this gal repeats outfits constantly! If I love something, I tend to just live in it - no shame! The main purpose of this post is to show how I cut the bottom cuffs of my jeans off; literally the best thing I've ever done! I did like my Levis before, but I always thought the cuffs looked a bit too neat and even awkward at times. So I went a bit scissor crazy and chopped them off, and then started tugging on the ends like a madwoman until I was happy with the fraying. I love the length of them now, and the uneven fraying is a subtle way to take any outfit to the next level and help it all look effortless yet stylish.

PIMKIE PIECES

I was recently in Madrid, where I picked up this faux fur gilet and maroon knit from Pimkie; a brand that is fairly unknown in the UK. It's actually a French brand, and shops are found pretty much all over Europe! I used to shop there quite a lot when I was younger, and I re-discovered why that was as soon as I walked into the Madrid store. It's such a cool and casual label, offering fantastic value for money pieces - it kinda reminds me a bit of New Look.
I've been after a fur gilet for a while and really liked this creamy/brown-coloured one. Even though my usual colour palette consists of grey tones, I was really keen to purchase something that would push me to experiment with other colours outside of my comfort zone. I was also after a maroon jumper, and when I saw this one, with the tassel detailing, I thought it was just that little bit more unique than the bog standard knit jumper I see everywhere. I dug out my old ASOS studded monk shoes to finish off the whole look, teaming it all up with my ripped jeans of course! (I'm really gonna have to get myself some new jeans soon)

BLACK BOW

I love the black t-shirt/black jeans combo, and all-black outfits in general, but I thought I'd switch it up a little with this cute cropped t-shirt and bow detail, which injects a hint of femininity into a more masculine look. I went for a slight pop of colour with this ancient stripy green cardigan I found in my wardrobe the other day. Not only is green my favourite colour, but also I feel like it's a slightly more unusual and unique colour in the cardigan department for me, as I usually tend to stick to grey/burgandy/mustard tones. I teamed it all up with my new shimmery silver trainers, which I've been wearing to death lately. They make such a fantastic statement - but not too over the top - addition to a monochrome outfit!

CREEPING INTO AUTUMN

This H&M bomber - which I picked up in the sale for only £15 a couple of months ago - is a perfect transition piece for the forthcoming colder weather. I'm really not much of a winter dresser, but as this bomber is actually quite thick and warm, it's perfect to create a funky look and also to combat the chill. I also recently dug up these Adidas high-top sneakers from my wardrobe, which are also helping me transition from Summer to Autumn. Trainers and sneakers, generally, allow for a seamless adjustment between the seasons, and while I'm able to ditch all my old sandals and other summery shoes, they're still not the warm winter boot that I'm sure I'll be sporting in the next couple of months!

SOMETHING PINK FOR ONCE
I honestly don't think I own a single pink item of clothing, and I've never generally been a huge fan or wearer of pink throughout my life, so I thought I'd switch it up a bit and get myself this snug jumper. It's quite a nice dusty tone - don't really even know what that means, but y'know, not the super bright fuchsia colour? Also, I really love (and always have) the contrast between pink and grey. So voilà !

DESIGNER .VS. HIGH-STREET
I don't know about you, but over the past couple of months, I've definitely spent more time than I should lusting over shoes I will never be able to afford. So much time has been dedicated to scrolling dejectedly down pages and pages of gorgeous Alexander Wang shoes, but alas, they're so expensive that my time has never amounted to anything.
But the truth is that if you look hard enough, the chances are that you'll find pretty much the same thing right on your door step. A vast number of high-street and online stores set out to dupe these designer beauties every season, for the benefit of those of us with slightly lighter wallets. ZARA
Long time no post! Here's an outfit I wore the other day when I went for dinner with some of my good friends from back home, who have just moved to London for jobs and masters. Both the wrap dress AND the longline coat were purchased in the Zara sale: that thing is honestly a saviour, without a doubt one of the best stores when it comes to mid-season sales. I absolutely love the print on this coat, and thought it was an interesting take on the grid print that's all the rage at the moment. I paired it with my dusty purple dress, which I think makes for a gorgeous combination of colours; keeping it simple and understated, while not too monochrome.
I got the coat in a size 10, so that there would be more room for chunkier layers underneath. I'm not really sure if it could be classified as a coat: it's quite lightweight and thin, and doesn't have a zip or buttons, which isn't really ideal for the cold or the rain. I don't know about you guys, but I feel like I've totally missed the transition period between summer and winter. I think I'm probably one of those people who cling on desperately to summer, and dress extremely inappropriately on the cooler autumn days. Now it feels like it's full on winter, and I need to wear a chunky coat and scarf at all times, or else I freeze my ass off.
In any case, the weather was decent when I wore this outfit, but I'm afraid that my coat has had a very short-lived existence, and will have to wait to hit the streets again until next year; unless the sun decides to grace us with its presence in the next few coming weeks. Fingers crossed!

PORCELAIN KIMONO
I absolutely adore porcelain patterned items, and when I saw this gorgeous top on Choies, I was doubly sold by its kimono style! I'm in love with the kimono trend, but I feel like they've been worn to death over the past couple of seasons, and this offered something slightly different. I thought it was a perfect daytime piece, ready to be dressed up or down for any occasion.
I paired it with my white skinny jeans and maroon oxford brogues, completing the entire look with my fringed bag from H&M: a nice simple outfit appropriate for the early Autumn days that don't yet require chunky knits or jackets.
