PINAFORE DRESS TREND

Bershka pinafore dress // Whistles cropped tee // Topshop choker // H&M long cardigan // ALDO sunglasses // Converse trainers // Mango leather jacket
---------------------------------------

This season we're seeing a huge denim revival with a surge of 70's and 90's trends hitting the shops for Spring and Summer! Dungarees have been on trend for ages, but a new take on that trend is the pinafore. Be it denim, tartan, leather or even suede, I love how you can style the pinafore dress in so many different ways for great summery looks. Here I've created a sporty/girly outfit with a Bershka denim pinafore dress, pink cropped tee and blue Converse!
In the two images below, I've ditched the blue for some black high-top Converse and a leather jacket for a slightly grungier and tougher look!

ZARA

Long time no post! Here's an outfit I wore the other day when I went for dinner with some of my good friends from back home, who have just moved to London for jobs and masters. Both the wrap dress AND the longline coat were purchased in the Zara sale: that thing is honestly a saviour, without a doubt one of the best stores when it comes to mid-season sales. I absolutely love the print on this coat, and thought it was an interesting take on the grid print that's all the rage at the moment. I paired it with my dusty purple dress, which I think makes for a gorgeous combination of colours; keeping it simple and understated, while not too monochrome.

I got the coat in a size 10, so that there would be more room for chunkier layers underneath. I'm not really sure if it could be classified as a coat: it's quite lightweight and thin, and doesn't have a zip or buttons, which isn't really ideal for the cold or the rain. I don't know about you guys, but I feel like I've totally missed the transition period between summer and winter. I think I'm probably one of those people who cling on desperately to summer, and dress extremely inappropriately on the cooler autumn days. Now it feels like it's full on winter, and I need to wear a chunky coat and scarf at all times, or else I freeze my ass off.

In any case, the weather was decent when I wore this outfit, but I'm afraid that my coat has had a very short-lived existence, and will have to wait to hit the streets again until next year; unless the sun decides to grace us with its presence in the next few coming weeks. Fingers crossed!

ARK

Recently, I came across the online store ARK, and fell in love! They stock cool brands like Motel but also have their own labels, Hearts & Bows, and CLOAK. They have a pretty amazing sale going on right now and I picked up this bright summery shift dress for a mere £9.99. I thought it was such a simple piece and so easy to style, but also so unique and eye-catching, and way different to my usually black/grey/darker choices!

It was my good friend's birthday last week, so I thought it was the perfect occasion to wear it, and an excuse to wear my heels again!

I'm so sad because I bought these heels only a month ago for £70, and they've now been reduced to £30. WEEP WEEP! Ahh well, they were worth it at full price anyway!

Hope you guys liked this look!

Girly Grungy

The only downside to packing for a holiday (other than the bore of packing) is that there's a physical limit as to how much stuff you can take with you. So here's the same aztec skirt & sandals combo once again - it is crazy, though, how an outfit can look completely different with a few minor changes in accessories and the like. The bowler hat and grungy tank top takes this outfit from girly to slightly more edgy.

I'm actually wearing this top back to front, because I prefer the print & image on the back more. Isn't it annoying when that happens?!

I took this photo (below) for a better contrast between the hat and the background. I absolutely love bowler hats, fedoras, and also, increasingly, wide brimmed hats, which can make an outfit look super chic and girly. I went through a massive hat phase a few years ago, but haven't really been so into them recently, because I feel like my hair is too long and heavy, and I never quite know what to do with it without it ultimately hanging by my face like a curtain/mop situation! I plan on giving my hair a substantial chop soon - hopefully it'll be more hat appropriate before I know it!

| REGALROSE |

 YAAAAAY!

My REGALROSE necklace arrived yesterday! I am in lurve!

I first saw this necklace whilst watching Made in Chelsea a few weeks back. For those of you who don't watch it, one of the main members of the cast, Lucy Watson, was wearing it in a recent episode, and I was immediately drawn to it! It's definitely my kind of thing - slightly grungy but also really pretty and individual. I quickly realised that this brand was gaining quite a bit of traction in the blogosphere, and since my birthday's coming up in a couple of days (I seem to be justifying all my purchases with that line recently - oops!) I had to get it!

It came in this cute little canvas bag :)

This particular necklace is called the Apogee. Gunmetal and Crystal Chain Choker, and I decided to get it in matte silver, as I figured that it would be the most compatible with my wardrobe, and it's quite understated, which is exactly what I was after!

They have a huge range of amazing jewellery and accessories, and some of their rings are to dieeee for! I really want to get my hands on some of those soon! Check out their stuff below:

I had to pop out for a sec, so I teamed my choker up with a simple outfit - all black, what's new! I tried to break it up a bit with my oversized flannel shirt, and I also just realised that my t-shirt actually looks like a deep purple colour in the light. Hmmm..
