STUDDED MONK SHOES

After publishing my previous blog post (here), I really couldn't get these studded monk shoes out of my head, and finally caved. Considering that they were on sale, reduced from £35 to just £19, it was an offer I couldn't really pass up, especially since I've been after a simple pair of black brogues/loafers for ages. I needed some shoes that went with pretty much anything, especially my white jeans and mom jeans, which I usually find quite hard pairing with any of the shoes I already own. These babies are super comfortable but are also versatile and quite unique due to the studs and monk strap; a detail that I've been seeing all over the place recently.

I also picked up this grey jumper from H&M; like I don't have enough grey in my wardrobe - doh! In all seriousness, though, many of the grey jumpers I do own, I find quite restricting, either in size or fit, but this one is just perfect! It's slightly over-sized, but still feminine, extremely soft and also stretchy, which allows for more movement. 

I teamed the jeans and shoes with a simple V-neck tee from Primark (the boys' section of course) and added a hint of girliness (but not too much) with the Chanel dupe bag. It was given to me by my boyfriend's mum after a spring clean of her wardrobe. She told me it was a fake, so I'll take her word for it, but it honestly looks and feels as real as can be - such great quality, and such an awesome touch to a simple outfit!

I'm also loving the cute bracelets in Urban Outfitters recently! 

Next, I'm going to try and experiment with my monk shoes for a slightly more edgy and out-there look! Watch this space!

AUTUMN'S COMING

Hey guys! Just a quick outfit post; mainly to complain about the weather we've been having in London recently! It's now almost always overcast, rainy, and quite chilly - basically, it's unacceptable weather for August :( The only upside is that I really enjoy dressing for slightly cooler Autumn weather - it allows so many opportunities for layering & cool blazers or chunky knits! This kimono is perfect for this kind of weather, and looks awesome thrown over a simple, monochrome outfit! 

I'm also becoming more accustomed to wearing my white skinnies! They go with pretty much everything, but yet make for a more interesting look than the standard black skinny jeans I used to live in! Next, I'd like to get myself a slightly more dishevelled and ripped up pair! 

I got myself this new fringed leather bag while perusing the streets of London the other day with my friend. To be fair, it was less a matter of indulgence and more that I was actually in need of a cute bag in a colour other than black! I thought this was one was perfect to pair with loads of different outfits, as well as it being a great size, and also, I really can't pass up a bit of fringe!

| A New Combination |

Sooo... this look is definitely different and more girly than what I tend to go for. But this weekend, I thought I'd ditch my usually slouchy and monochrome getup, and dress up a little for a dinner date with my boyfriend. 

I must say that I wasn't too sure about these jeans when I first bought them. I really really wanted some white ones so that I could gradually stray away from my insistent black/grey choices, but being white, they just didn't have the same slimming effect as all my other pairs, and as I'm fairly well endowed in the hip and bottom area, I wasn't sure as to how they would look. But I decided to give them a go, and teamed them up with this gorgeous beaded crop and my coral-y blazer, as well as my cute beaded sandals, which I usually have a hard time pairing outfits with.

I was also so happy to wear my beaded Topshop crop, which, having been quite expensive, is an item that I probably haven't made as much use of as I should have. A recurring problem regarding this top is that I've never really had much to wear it with, and usually only wear it with skirts, which would always then make the blazer situation more difficult, so I was glad to be able to put all these lovely items to good use in one outfit.
