I love the black t-shirt/black jeans combo, and all-black outfits in general, but I thought I'd switch it up a little with this cute cropped t-shirt and bow detail, which injects a hint of femininity into a more masculine look. I went for a slight pop of colour with this ancient stripy green cardigan I found in my wardrobe the other day. Not only is green my favourite colour, but also I feel like it's a slightly more unusual and unique colour in the cardigan department for me, as I usually tend to stick to grey/burgandy/mustard tones. I teamed it all up with my new shimmery silver trainers, which I've been wearing to death lately. They make such a fantastic statement - but not too over the top - addition to a monochrome outfit!

SILVER & SIMPLE AESTHETICS

If you're trying to create a stylish outfit without much thought or effort, or if you're really not about crazy and colourful prints, the best way to achieve that is really by focusing on smaller details. I don't know what it is about duster jackets, but they have the ability to make any boring old outfit look good. A taupe-grey colour like this one is never going to go out of fashion, and not only looks super chic, but also allows you to play with more masculine looks.

I'm a big believer in letting your shoes do the talking. You can have a super simple and understated outfit, but then team it up with a pair of cool shoes - they don't necessarily have to be loud and crazy, just something a little different - and an outfit can be completely transformed. In this case, I think the silver trainers, the rips in the jeans, both teamed up with the duster coat, is what makes this look. Other than that, the colour palette is simple and so is the general aesthetic. There's really not much to it :)
